The commissioned painting represents a painting with sunrise. I wanted to use the imagery of a “japanese torii gate” as the basis for the floating “和” which means harmony in Chinese. The figure on the left is a lady rowing the boat carrying the word “福” or Blessings. The painting represents the idea of bringing home the blessings and navigating life with lots of Blessings with you as your cargo on board:)
